The Campbell County Airport is often the Front Door into Campbell County for visiting dignitaries, politicians, manufacturing company employees and tourism. The airport serves as a base of flight operations for some local businesses where their aircraft are based. In many cases the airport and the individual’s destination are the only part of Campbell County that the individual sees.
The main emphasis of the airport is on business and industrial service. Seventy five percent of traffic through the airport is business related. The remainder is personal or recreational activities.
The Airport is continually` being improved with additional Apron Space, T-Hangars, Airport Security Surveillance System, Lengthened Runway and a 24hr Self Service Fuel System completed in the last few years. Future plans include additional Runway Length, T-Hangars and a new Terminal Building, all as a result of Campbell County's Commitment to their Airport. The Airport has also received 10 Consecutive "Front Door Awards" and the Governor's Silver Star Airport Award from the Tennessee Division of Aeronautics and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Those Awards recognizes airports that meet all the requirements for certification, maintain safe operations, maintain the grounds in good condition, and serve as a good representatives of their community and of Tennessee to businesses that travel in and out of the County,
